A large role I had at Maga was to work with our various clients to ghost write content - web content, articles, marketing pieces, social media posts, etc. - on various happenings within their company. News such as events, new technology roll-outs, breakthroughs, and awards were frequently the topics I developed content for.
As part of the non-disclosure agreement and clearances required for my type of work and clients, I am unable to post the physical work on this public site. Please feel free to contact me privately if you'd like to learn more about what I did to help my clients at Maga. In the summer of 2016, some fellow Magateers and I collaborated on creating two white papers. These white papers focus on two topics, Knowledge Transfer and Social Business Strategy. These papers have been read by many commercial and federal entities. Click the buttons below to read up on some of our ideas!
On my WordPress blog #LauraLoves, you can see the work that I've created and collected over the course of my Master's Degree at the University of Florida. I love what I do and what I studied, and I believe this blog showcases just that. I frequently try to update it every so often with more work, whenever I have a chunk of spare time. Enjoy!
The PBA News Blog is a place where all of the news and updates regarding anything that has to do with PBA and their partners is housed. I did most of the posting in the blog until my departure in April 2016.
Social media was a large part of my job at PBA. I created social media calendars for each month, pulled content, and wrote each post depending on the month's theme. Check out a sample calendar below and follow the links to the social media sites I handled until my departure in April 2016.
A main part of my job at PBA was to gather content for, edit, and send out our 3 eNewsletters (one was eventually passed off to a third-party contractor).
In Words and Images (taken spring of Junior year at Pitt), we discussed how different stories are adapted to different mediums. In this paper, I argue that the Harry Potter series is properly adapted into many mediums, like print and the silver screen.
This piece, from my History of the Mass Media class (taken spring of Junior year at Pitt), argues how picture books are good for a child's cognitive development and learning process.
In my Intro to Nonfiction Journalism class, taken during the spring semester of my sophomore year at Pitt, we learned how to take a nonfiction, real-life story, and put a creative twist on it. Descriptive imagery, flowery language, and a little freedom with structure is all I needed to create this memoir from one of the best and worst moments of my 18-year cheerleading career.
This piece is also from my Intro to Nonfiction Journalism Class. We were encouraged to observe and immerse ourselves into a culture and write about it as if we were experiencing it for the first time. I chose to stick with the cheerleading theme, and observed the University of Pittsburgh cheerleading team.
